That’s right. What was shaping up to be one of the biggest tours of the year showcasing both world famous rapper Kanye West and new pop sensation Lady Gaga has been officially canceled according to the tour’s promoter, Live Nation.
Of course, this comes just weeks after the huge controversy regarding Kanye West and his rude interruption of Taylor Swift during the MTV Video Music Awards. Whether or not that recent event played a role in the cancellation of this tour has not been confirmed, but remains a very obvious possibility. If somehow you’re not familiar with that incident, check out this post.
Lady Gaga is not without her own controversies. Not only did she show up to the VMAs in some sort of bizarre snow queen/eskimo number, but there are also rampant rumors on the internet concerning her gender. You read that right. The biggest rumor surrounding Ms Gaga is that she is in fact a man. Of course there is no real evidence or anything to lend any legitimacy to this hilarious claim, but I thought I would mention it anyway.
So, if you think about it, love or hate Kanye and Lady Gaga, the fact that their joint tour has been canceled sort of sucks. The fact that they are both so controversial would suggest that touring together would have undoubtedly resulted in a good time.
For all we now, maybe the two are together somewhere, commiserating over the loss of this tour which would have certainly been very profitable for all parties involved. Perhaps they will take this opportunity to collaborate and produce the most ridiculous forced controversy (in song form) that we’ve ever heard.
Although we can only speculate as to whether or not Kanye West is actually a dick in real life, or if Lady Gaga actually has a dick in real life, one thing is for certain…the world will have to wait for the Kanye Gaga show.
aaaaaaaaaaaand gets caught.

I suppose I would start singing as well if I enjoyed as much success as Tarantino recently has thanks to his smash hit film “Inglorious Basterds”. This new ass-kicking nazi-slaying movie that goes as far as re-writing history for entertainment value has grossed over $95 million in just three weeks.
In a recent interview with Peter Travers from Rolling Stone on ABC News NOW, Tarantino was asked by Tavers to sing in celebration of the film’s overwhelming success. He chose a somewhat obscure song by the name of “The Man in the Big Sombrero” from an old film from the 1940s called Hi Diddle Diddle.

The band that brought you such unforgettable singles as “Flagpole Sitta” (”I’m not sick, but I’m not well), and, um…well, I guess that’s it! In any event, 12 years after they hit one-hit wonder status, Harvey Danger has decided to retire the band once and for all.
A lot of folks probably didn’t realize that Harvey Danger was still at it, making records and playing shows. Believe it or not, Harvey Danger’s underground fan base is actually pretty impressive. And I hear tell that their fans are SO hardcore, they don’t even expect the band to play Flagpole Sitta at their shows (and they seldom do). Well, at least they didn’t…before they broke up.
This month the Seattle based rock quartet known as Harvey Danger played their last slew of shows for their fans before officially calling it quits this weekend. Prior to the farewell shows, lead singer Sean Nelson conducted an interview with The AV Club in Chicago about the demise of the band as well as an other interesting topic: Bands that should re-unite and bands that should break up.
If you don’t feel like reading the whole thing, I’ll just list the bands he claims should hop on the “break up” bandwagon (since those are the ones you know you’re most interested in, anyway).
I agree with 3/4. I’m not telling you which 3.
(Hint: Coldplay is one of them)
Talk about fail. As if it wasn’t bad enough that the sound system went out in the middle of Aerosmith performing their old hit, “Love In An Elevator”, 61 year old singer Steven Tyler had to go and fall off the stage during their concert at Sturgis Motorcycle Rall in good old Rapid City, South Dakota.
In an effort to gracefully recover from the technical difficulties, the aging rocker decided to do what he does best to keep the crowd entertained: dance around. Unfortunately, a miscalculation with regard to the width of the catwalk caused Tyler to step backward and fall right into the crowd, where he landed awkwardly.
Sustaining minor head, neck, and shoulder injuries, Tyler was airlifted from the scene to Rapid City Regional Hospital as a precaution.
Although the concert was cut short due to the incident, Aerosmith’s middle aged fans were more than supportive and somehow managed to restrain themselves from rioting. Tyler is expected to make a full recovery.
Seems like forever ago that we heard rumors that Eminem was dating pop diva Mariah Carey…because it was forever ago. However, for whatever reason, Eminem recently revisited that past and decided to record a supremely controversial diss both towards Mariah and her current husband, Nick Cannon.
This is technically the third time Eminem has attacked Mariah in one of his songs. The first time was a subtle reference in the song “Superman” from “The Eminem Show” (2002). In that song, Eminem was dissing women in general, specifically the gold digging type that he has to deal with as part of being a musician of such celebrity status.
(From “Superman”):
“What you tryin’ to be, my new wife?
What you Mariah? Fly through twice”
On his most recent album, “Relapse”, Eminem dissed Mariah in a more focused and brash style on the track “Bagpipes from Baghdad”, where he rapped in detail about their sordid relationship and Carey’s alleged alcoholism. He also addressed Nick Cannon briefly with the line “Nick Cannon, you prick, I wish you luck with the fuckin’ whore”.
Obviously Carey and hubby Nick where less than pleased with the track. I don’t know if they ever contacted Eminem or made any public statements about the original diss, but for whatever reason, Eminem felt like he had more to say on the issue.
On this new diss, “The Warning”, that has just hit the internet (and is spreading like wildfire as we speak), Eminem opens with a statement: “Only reason I dissed you in the first place? Was ’cause you denied seeing me”, almost as a disclaimer for the content of the song.
This time, Eminem even went as far as to include Carey’s recorded voice from voicemail messages she left him years ago.
Check it out for yourself:

The ever lovable British crooner, Amy Winehouse, was found not guilty on Friday of assaulting a female fan that asked to take a picture with her.
While she admits that she did connect with the young woman’s eye, Winehouse stated that she only meant to remove the arm that was drunkenly swung over her shoulder. She also said that she felt intimidated by the much taller woman and feared for her safety.
The plaintiff, Sherene Flash, stands at a bit over 5′7″, while Ms. Winehouse is but a frail 5′2″ (and probably somewhere around 34lbs). Winehouse’s lawyer argued that it would have been too difficult to strike Flash in the eye because of her height advantage. He also added that the only real injury resulting from the altercation was to “Miss Flash’s pride”.
After hearing all of the evidence, district judge Tim Workman determined that it could not be proven whether or not the blow had been deliberate, therefore he found the defendant not guilty subsequently cleared her of all charges.
On the way out of the courthouse, Amy was swarmed by reporters but somehow managed to restrain herself and not punch any of them.
“I’m relieved”, she told to one reporter in passing. “I’m going home”.
Sort of! In his latest single released on MySpace, Weird Al Yankovic digs a little deeper with his new target: Disneyland Jungle Cruise Skippers. That’s right.
If you aren’t a poor unfortunate soul (The Little Mermaid reference), then you’ve been to Disneland in Anaheim, CA. One of the oldest and most popular attractions in the Disneyland Park is the World Famous Jungle Cruise, a guided boat tour through a dangerous jungle complete with exotic plantlife and animatronic animals. Most people remember the ride not just for the secnery but for the witty and often sarcastic commentary of their jungle skipper, arguably the most charismatic of all Disneyland employees.
Well, perhaps Weird Al Yankovic had a bad experience on the ride lately, because he put the ride and all of it’s workers on blast, in a very big way.
The single is called “Skipper Dan”, and it takes inside the life of an aspiring actor named Dan who has been chasing his Hollywood/Broadway dreams his whole life, but has found himself stuck in a dead end job as a jungle cruise skipper.
“I’m a tour guide on the Jungle Cruise ride, Skipper Dan is the name”, Weird Al sings during the shamelessly catchy chorus. “And i’m doin 34 shows every day, but every time it’s the same/Look at those hippos, they’re wiggling their ears/just like they’ve done for the last 50 years/now I’m laughing at my own jokes but i’m crying inside, cause i’m working at the jungle cruise ride”.
Hopefully “Skipper Dan” can take a joke, if he is indeed a non-fictional character.
Check out the animated video here!
*I should also point out that the Jungle Cruise in Anaheim is not the only one, as they can be found in other Disney parks around the world. However, since the one in Anaheim is the original (and the only with Walt Disney’s personal touch), I’m going to go ahead and assume that’s the one Weird Al is refering to.
Eminem’s new album, “Relapse”, has gotten drastically varied reviews from hip hop fans. Some die hard Eminem fans claim it is his best work yet. Others, however, were left feeling disappointed after the new album fell short of their expectations.
One such person on the latter side of the fence is controversial YouTube personality, Todd Wentworth. Known mainly for his Mixed Martial Arts prediction videos and social commentary on promiscuous women as part of his “Hoebusters” series, commenting on hip hop was a bit of a departure.
In this video response to Eminem’s video for the single “We Made You”, Todd angered thousands of Eminem fans by harshly criticizing the new single and even going as far as to call it “marshmallow league”. Apparently angered by the negative reaction to his video, Todd Wentworth has just responded with a diss directed at both Marshal Mathers and his fans that had the audacity to leave negative comments on his video. Who know that Todd could rap? Check it out:
Now that the lines between mainstream and internet entertainers are being blurred, could it be possible that we might ever hear a response from Slim Shady himself? It certainly would be entertaining. Honestly, if you ask me, I think the two would probably get along pretty well in real life.
