Fox Studios Accused of Being Racist

Sunday, July 27th, 2008

Rapper Nas isn’t happy with the media giant Fox, and that hasn’t been a secret for a very long time. He objects to their conservative leanings and what he sees as racism in their news reports. Now he’s taking his opinion one step further.

He already penned a song that protests against the company, and he’s joining both MoveOn.org and ColorOfChange.org in the delivery of a petition to Fox’s Manhattan studios. The petition contains 600,000 signatures, and states that Fox must “end its pattern of racist attacks against Black Americans including presidential candidate Barack Obama and his wife Michelle.”

Nas is protesting what he feels is a pattern of racist language against the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee and his family, and said that Fox “poisons the country with racist propaganda and tries to call it news,” which was a very diplomatic way to put his true feelings into words.

The concerns that Nas has range along most of the news programs that Fox has to offer but the point of the petition was to address the issues regarding Obama and his wife. The confusion of his name with Osama was thought to be deliberate and the fist-bump with his wife when he reached enough delegates to secure the nomination was labeled as a “terrorist” activity.

Here’s a clip.

Nate Dogg Charged With Felony Stalking And Terroist Threats

Monday, July 14th, 2008

The self proclaimed “Ghetto Preacher” has been charged with stalking.

His wife.

That’s right, his wife charged the man with a felony.

Prosecutors in Los Angeles, California recently filed felony stalking charges against Nate Dogg, alleging he pursued his wife’s car at high-speeds and verbally assaulted her with “terrorist threats.”

What a year it’s been for Nate Dogg, the 38 year-old cousin of Snoop Dogg,  first a stroke then,  the world proclaims him dead and now this.

Nate Dogg got his break debuting on 1992’s The Chronic by Dr. Dre.  He became known for singing in a unique, trademark style that was applauded by critics and fans alike.  He signed to Death Row Records in 1993.

Nate Dogg will be arraigned in  Los Angeles July 16th, 2008.  His last album was released in 2004.  He turns 39 on August 19th.

Ludacris To Become New Spokesman For AT&T

Friday, July 11th, 2008

Ludacris is making history.  He has signed a multi-million dollar deal with tele-com giant, AT & T, making him the first hip-hop act to sign to a US phone company for more than a million dollars.

AT&T plans to feature the rapper in online videos and television ad campaigns beginning next month.

When asked about the recent filming for the ad spots, Ludacris said:

“I had a lot a fun shooting this commercial…If you like the AT&T commercials you’ve seen then you’ll love this one.”

Hmm, I don’t really remember any recent AT&T commercials I’ve seen, Cris.   I wonder what your recruiting letter from AT&T  looked like before you signed:

Dear Ludacris,
If you like the million dollar checks you’ve seen, you’ll love these others we have for you.

Sincerely,
AT&T (your new best friends)

Ludacris is currently finalizing his 6th studio album titled “Theater Of Mind.”  Expected to be released soon.

At the end of the day, I guess the AT&T money will keep you making music.  Congrats for all those benjamins, Luda.  I’m just glad Easy E  died before he had a chance to go corporate.
