Joaquin Phoenix - The Next Eminem?

Sure, it sounds a little crazy at first. Then again, wasn’t his role as Commodus in the blockbuster film “Gladiator” a little big gangster? Actually, I take that back. Russel Crowe (aka Maximus) was the real gangster in that movie. Commodus was more like a snitch. Okay it’s a little harder than I thought it would be to make a case for Joaquin as a rapper. Nonetheless, he’s going for it. In fact, he’s already on his way.

Just a few nights ago, Joaquin Phoenix made his hip-hop debut at a very exclusive show at the Lavo nightclub inside the swanky Palazzo hotel in Las Vegas. Rocking sunglasses, what appears to be a knitted cap, and a full on mountain man beard, Phoenix took the stage and bore his soul through hip hop.

Now, I know it sounds like I’m making this up. However, this is one of those things that you simply cannot make up. But just to put to rest any doubts you might have, here is a short clip from the fiasco:

With all due respect, Joaquin, is this for real? Or is it some sort of elaborate hoax? This is all coming off the heels of his announcement that he is sick of Hollywood and done with acting altogether.Oh, and it gets better. Rumor has it that he is working on a full-length hip hop album. Who is producing, you ask? None other than Puff Daddy/P. Diddy/Diddy/Sean Combs himself. This should be interesting…Oh wait, I almost forgot. He fell off stage (because this wasn’t yet ridiculous enough):
