White Zombie is a corpse, which happens to make a great gift
White Zombie, the popular 90’s heavy rock band that is no longer an item, has finally been laid to rest peacefully, in the form of a boxed set.
The boxed set, titled “Let Sleeping Corpses Lie”, was put together by Rob Zombie, who used to be the front-man and lead singer for White Zombie.
The long overdue set includes 4 CD’s and 1 DVD, which all totals up to 63 songs and a load of extremely rare footage that Rob Zombie has held onto for the past decade.
Whether or not you were old enough to listen to White Zombie back in the early 90’s or not, the boxed set is sure to be long-awaited gem for every fan, new or old.
The catchy title of “Let Sleeping Corpses Lie” is something Rob Zombie came up with himself, in an effort to make a statement on the subject of whether or not White Zombie will ever reunite or have a reunion tour; I think it’s safe to say that once something is dead, it is dead for good, especially in this case.
Talking about the compilation, Rob Zombie said that he hopes “Let Sleeping Corpses Die” will feed the longing appetites of the younger generations who are fans of the band, who continue to come along.
He followed up by saying “I can see it, strangely enough, in the royalty checks. Every year, the band makes more money than the last. Hot Topic is now doing a new line of ‘White Zombie’ merchandise. It’s just one of those things that happens, I think. There’s always a new wave of kids who get super-jazzed about a band that’s not around anymore.”
None of us had the chance to say goodbye to the band when they played their last show in 1996, but now, with “Let Sleeping Corpses Lie”, we can finally pay our respects, have closure, and move on.
